Grow one of the most fascinating and unusual succulent relatives of geraniums with Monsonia vanderietiae seeds (formerly Sarcocaulon). Native to the dry summer-rainfall regions of South Africa’s Eastern Cape, this rare caudiciform species develops beautifully twisted succulent stems, delicate crepe-paper-like flowers, and unique foliage that transforms into protective spines as leaves mature.

Highly sought after by succulent collectors and rare plant enthusiasts, Monsonia vanderietiae is considered one of the easier species in the genus to cultivate. Its sculptural growth habit and elegant pale white-to-light-pink flowers make it a striking addition to caudiciform collections, xeric gardens, succulent displays, and indoor grow setups.

These seeds are hand-pollinated from 2026 flowers and are rarely available due to the plant’s inability to self-pollinate. Growing from seed is considered the best method for establishing healthy long-lived specimens.

You will receive:
✔️ 5 Monsonia vanderietiae seeds
✔️ Fresh 2026 hand-pollinated seeds
✔️ Rare caudiciform succulent species

Customer Notice for Live Plants

Live plants may experience normal shipping stress such as leaf loss, yellowing, wilting, or minor branch damage.

Please consider local weather before purchasing. Extreme heat, freezing temperatures, severe weather, shipping delays, or unattended packages may increase plant stress.

Due to the perishable nature of live plants, returns are generally not accepted. If there is an issue with your order, please contact us within 48 hours of delivery and provide the required photos for review.

  • Photos of the shipping box
  • Photo of the shipping label
  • Clear photos of the plant from multiple angles
  • Scratch test photos if the plant appears dead or dormant

Dormant, stressed, defoliated, wilted, or transit-shocked plants are not automatically considered dead.
